A neuroscientist, also known as a neurobiologist, is a scientist who studies the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and networks of nerve cells called neurons. Neuroscientists seek to understand how the nervous system functions at various levels, from the molecular and cellular levels to the systems and behavioral levels. They use a range of techniques and approaches, including anatomical, physiological, and genetic methods, to investigate the structure, function, and development of the nervous system.
Neuroscientists study the cellular, functional, behavioural,
evolutionary, computational, molecular, cellular, and medical aspects of the
nervous system. There are various fields that focus on different aspects, but
they often overlap. Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary science that works
closely with other disciplines, such as mathematics, linguistics, engineering,
computer science, chemistry, philosophy, psychology, and medicine.
